CONCENTRATIONS

The College of Communication does not currently offer minors. However, it does offer students the opportunity to acquire concentrations, which are comprised of a unique series of courses in four different topic areas that give students the equivalent of a minor.

Business Foundations Program
The program is designed to provide a foundation in business concepts and practice for students who plan to enter the workforce or a graduate degree program upon completion of their undergraduate degree.

Women's Studies
The Center for Women's Studies at UT Austin focuses on the University-wide interdisciplinary study of women and gender at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Elements of Computing Program
Seven courses designed to offer students a background in the fundamentals of computing, as well as an introduction to the key application areas of computing in today’s economy.

United States Latino and Latin American Media Studies Concentration
This concentration is designed to introduce students to US Latino and American media issues in communication and to provide them the opportunity to prepare for professional work related to these areas.

For more information on these concentrations, contact the Office of Student Affairs in the College of Communication (CMA 4.140, 471-1553).
