Amanda Mabry
Amanda is a first-year doctoral student from Beaverton, OR. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Oregon where she was active in several health promotion student groups on campus.
After working for several years in retail management, she returned to her passion of health promotion by earning a Master of Public Health from the George Washington University in 2012 where she focused on public health communication and marketing.
She joined the doctoral program in Advertising at the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Her research interests lie in persuasion and how persuasion can be applied to public health, particularly communication geared toward the prevention of gender-based violence. Currently, she is a teaching assistant for The Psychology of Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communication Management.
