Isaac I. Munoz is a Ph D. candidate in the department of Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a Masters of Science in Marketing from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a focus on International Marketing and Branding, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University.
His research interests converges marketing communications, account planning, qualitative methodologies and film studies to unearth consumer insights, explicitly related to the Hispanic consumer. Some of his other research interests include entertainment marketing, higher education marketing, pedagogy and health literacy.
Beyond his research, Isaac really enjoys teaching. During his master’s degree he lectured on Marketing Management, International Marketing and Global Consumer Behavior. As a doctoral student he has been a Teaching Assistant for Media Planning and Account Planning. He is now an Assistant Instructor and has taught Fundamentals of Advertising, and is teaching Creativity and American Culture, currently.
Before joining academia, Isaac worked in advertising, most recently as an Account Planning and Research Supervisor with Bromley Communications, a leading US multicultural agency in San Antonio, Texas. While there, he worked on such accounts as: General Mills, MillerCoors, the City of San Antonio, the University of Incarnate Word, Payless Shoe Source, Reynolds Wrap and Western Union.
In 2010, and during his tenure at Bromley, Isaac won the Silver (ARF) Advertising Research Foundation David Ogilvy Award for Reynolds Wrap Hispanic strategy in a Total Market category. Previously, he worked for Dallas-based Moroch Partners and their Hispanic market subsidiary, Moroch Latino (now, inspire!), on a client roster that included: McDonald's, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Digame, Tia Rosa and Midas.
Isaac is currently working on his dissertation. His research topic explores the dissemination and adoption of account planning in Hispanic advertising agencies. He has presented his research at the Texas Leadership Luncheon and the McCombs' Healthcare conference on innovative forms of communication, and has lectured at Texas State University and The University of Texas at San Antonio. Additionally, Isaac's research has been published in the Journal of Advertising Education.
