Marlene Neill is a doctoral student in Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri in Columbia, and Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She has 15 years of experience in journalism and public relations and is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. Neill serves as chair for the Southwest District of PRSA, and served a three-year term on the Universal Accreditation Board, which oversees the APR exam. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Baylor University. Her research interests include ethics in advertising and public relations, crisis communication, and the strategic role of public relations.
