Seung-Chul is a doctoral student in the Department of Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a M.A. from The University of Texas at Austin (Advertising). B.B.A. Sungkyunkwan University (Industrial and Organizational Psychology).
In his many years as an advertising professional, he worked as a sales promotion media planner at Cheil Worldwide (In-House Agency of Samsung Group) and a senior account manager at W Brand Connection (Korea Branch of WPP Communication Group). Also, he has been working as an international correspondent in Cheil Worldwide for several years.
Mr. Yoo’s research explores marketing communications through new media (e.g., 3D virtual reality, augmented reality, haptics, face scanning system, and holograms) with a focus on persuasion technologies. Particularly, he is interested in marketing communications through 3D virtual environments. He worked on advertising effectiveness measurement projects at several leading companies such as CJ Media http://www.cjenm.com and Samsung Electronics http://www.samsung.com/sec/
He is the author of the recent book titled ‘Digital Signage for Marketing Communications’, and his more than one hundred marketing and new media columns have appeared in a variety of industry magazines such as the Cheil Worldwide, the Monthly Interactive Marketing, the Monthly Design, the Daehong Communications, and the POP Sign. In addition, his recent advertising studies have been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Advertising Research and Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking.
