DANAE MANIKA

Ph.D Student, University of Texas at Austin (Advertising); M.A., University of Texas at Austin (Advertising; Concentration in Account Planning); B.A. Honors, University of Stirling in Scotland-UK (Marketing).

Danae has been exposed to both the European and American mentalities from having lived, studied and worked in Greece, the United Kingdom and the United States. Most recently, she interned in the Account Planning Department of DDB New York and Latinworks in Austin (Latinworks major clients include Dominos Pizza, Bud Light, Budweiser, Humana, Hyundai & US Cellular). Her main research interests revolve around the areas of Health Communications and Consumer Behavior. She is currently working on projects regarding the factors of trust in DTC advertising, the impact of different knowledge types on health-related decisions and testing the effectiveness of current DTC advertisements. Other areas of interest include Content Analysis as a methodology and the Account Planning Practice.
