Amber Chenevert
PhD student, University of Texas Austin (Advertising); M.A. Syracuse University (Advertising); B.S. Hampton University (Marketing); Amber is interested in studying race as a secondary cue in teen identity development. She will seek implications regarding attitudinal segmentation and its impact on marketers seeking to connect with teen consumers, as well as marketers seeking their next generation of leaders. Amber's other interests include multi-cultural advertising and cultural cues related to advertising agency recruiting practices. Prior to joining the doctoral program at UT, Amber worked in Account Management on the Retail and Digital business for technology and family restaurant accounts, respectively, at Wunderman Chicago. Realizing that strategy was more her niche, she left for Miami, completed the boot camp for Account Planners at Miami Ad School then landed at DRAFTFCB Chicago as a Strategic Planner. She worked on spirits, consumer package goods, healthcare, and spearheaded a new agency-wide diversity and inclusion initiative. In her spare time she continues to help DRAFTFCB re-imagine its diversity efforts, writes soul stirring poetry and watches mind numbing reality shows.
