Mark Yi-Cheon Yim
Doctorial Student in Advertising at the University of Texas at Austin; M.S. in Advertising at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; B.A. in German Language & Literature at Korea University in Seoul. His research interests include the effectiveness of new media and their applications, with a focus on virtual reality; and luxury branding. Currently, he is investigating the effectiveness of stereoscopic 3-D cinema advertising, the impact of anaglyph 3-D e-commerce, and consumer attitudes toward luxury brands in the cultural context. His work has been presented at the Association for Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) conference and the American Academy of Advertising (AAA) conference. As an account planner, he has worked for Cheil Communications Inc., which is Samsung in-house agency in Seoul, Korea. His major account was Samsung Electronics, working on such products as MP3 Player (Yepp), laptop (SENS), and television set (PAVV).
