Seung (Seung-Chul Yoo)

Seung-Chul is a doctoral student in the Department of Advertising at The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a M.A. The University of Texas at Austin (Advertising). B.B.A. Sungkyunkwan University (Industrial and Organizational Psychology). In his five years as an advertising professional, he worked as a sales promotion media planner at Cheil Worldwide and a senior account manager at W Brand Connection. Also, he has been working as an international correspondent in Cheil Worldwide since 2008. His research revolves around the persuasion through new technologies (e.g., 3D virtual reality, video gaming, augmented reality, haptics, digital out of home media). Particularly, he is interested in marketing communication through 3D virtual environments (e.g., 3D FPS games, Second Life). His work on digital out of home media has been presented at the 2009 American Academy of Advertising (AAA) conference. Also, he is the winner of The Robert M. Gray Scholarship 2008-2009 and The Foundation for Outdoor Advertising Research and Education (FOARE) Scholarship 2009-2010.
