Engel Management Services - PR Internship
Fall 2009 Internship:
Engel Management Services is the restaurant management company of Austin Java, and Texadelphia. They provide services in restaurant management, lobbying, factory management, productivity or efficiency studies and implementation, specification standardization, supply chain analysis or reengineering, cooperative or consortium services, professional procurement, project management, industrial management, and management advisory. EMS formed about five years ago.
We are primarily looking for an intern with PR interests, but are open to most communication areas. You will assist in creating high visibility for our brands via Social/Mobile Media and Marketing and through Local Store Marketing planning. This would include strategic planning and analytical studies of a certain market, identifying the opportunities to connect with the communities in these markets, and then create a basic Local Store Marketing Plan for the general managers to execute.
Job Information:
Hours: 10-15 hours a week (or as needed/required)
Payment/Credit: Unpaid
Position Level: Intern
Job Requirements:
Media relations experience (writing press releases, media alerts, etc.)
Strong writing and editing skills / Excellent phone and email skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Careful attention to detail / Must be familiar with Microsoft Office tools
Activities to include (but not limited to):
• Marketing restaurants to Austin organizations, community calendars, blogs, etc.
• Maintain and expand Austin Java database
• Maintaining information on AJ website / Maintain AJ media list and press kit
• Write and end media alerts and press releases for newsworthy information
• Responsible for maintaining current information on social marketing tools such as
• Facebook, Twitter, etc.
