DRIVEN PR, Fall 2009 Internship

Looking for 2 Fall Interns to Help Aggressively Promote Our Lifestyle, Consumer Product, and Literary Brands Driven PR is looking for enthusiastic, well organized and, what else, “driven” interns who are interested in learning first hand what it is like to work at a boutique lifestyle PR firm. Internship can be taken for college credit or for experience. Please be available a minimum of two days a week. Driven PR works directly with clients to use every powerful tool in the PR arsenal to bond the public to their brand, name or message — locally, nationally or worldwide.

From outstanding media training, aggressive media relations campaigns to imaginative press-friendly promotions and product placement, Driven PR professionals have worked in NYC and Los Angeles promoting category-killer clients, publishers and authors, such as: Dickies Workwear, Caroline Kennedy, Aveda, Ty Pennington, Anheuser-Busch, Maxim, MosterWynneRessler, Barnes & Nobel, Nicole Miller, Pea in the Pod, Nap Nanny, and many more.

Our internship program is set up to provide students and recent graduates with valuable, practical experience and identify candidates for permanent, entry-level positions in the firm.

Interns have the opportunity and are expected to:

*Write first draft of press releases

*Build media lists

*Conduct select media research and outreach

*Attend at least one client meeting

*Work at least one event and/or attend a networking event with account staff

*Participate in brainstorming sessions

*Contribute to the development of new programs and ideas

*Provide administrative support to account teams as needed

*Work on the Austin Ad Fed board

Driven PR wants interns who are and have:

*Upper classman or recent college graduate

*Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or English majors

*Interest in public relations and/or publishing as a career (not event planning)

*Impeccable written communication skills (backbone of being a PR maven; writing samples required)

*Strong research and database skills (essential to being a great publicist)

*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word and Excel

*Some knowledge of Photoshop and HTML coding is helpful, but not required

*Social Network fanatic

*Excellent time-management and organization skills

*Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

*Strong analytical and problem solving skills

*Team player, willing to take on any task, large or small
