Founded in 1995 by Laura W. Bush and a group of interested volunteers, the Texas Book Festival is held every year on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol.  Today the TBF, with the help of the Texas community, a statewide advisory committee and nearly 1,000 volunteers has awarded more than $2.5 million in grants to Texas public libraries.  In addition, more than 35,000 children in low-income schools have been reached with the TBF literacy program, Reading Rock Stars, providing for many the first book they've ever owned.  TBF is expanding its literary programming and events year-round.

This year is the 15th year anniversary the Texas Book Festival and is October 16 & 17.

Requirements
We are looking for a couple of interns who can help with publicity efforts and analysis for the October 16 and 17 Texas Book Festival, as well as other literary events produced by the Festival during the year.  Candidates should have an interest in books and authors, be strong writers, highly organized and have a good attention to detail. 

Duties
Duties will include blog postings, local market media outreach, photo research and organization, on-site participation in media relations efforts, Texas Book Festival on Oct. 16 and 17 as well as with other author events TBD. 

Work schedule is flexible.
