Description

Simply Postcards is a small but rapidly growing company that has recently launched a new free iPhone app that allows its users to send their own photos as real postcards right from their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You customize it and design it, we print it, stamp it, and mail it the next day. Send real postcards from anywhere to anywhere the simplest way possible, with just a click of a few buttons. We are also in the process of expanding to the Android within the first week of December.

Internship Duties
As an Ambassador, you will work through campus entities (i.e. clubs, teams, Greek life, residence halls, newspaper, etc.), social media websites, and various other channels to build awareness for the Simply Postcards brand. Other objectives of this role include:

  • Build conversations around the app
  • Pitch promotions to the Simply Postcards corporate team to secure a budget for events/promotions
  • Participate in an online community with other SP Ambassadors to share tips, tricks and success stories
  • Keep a diary of your progress

Skills Required
There is no one characteristic that defines a successful Ambassador. We look for enthusiastic, ambitious, creative, friendly individuals with strong communication and organizational skills.

DISCUSSION

Set up time to talk to a class/club/group/organization on campus about the benefits of using the Simply Postcards app. Ex. Pair up with the study abroad office on campus to organize an event to help raise awareness and answer questions about studying abroad. During this event have a segment about how awesome the Simply Postcards app is and how it applies to them on their trip.

BRANDING

Set up a table in the Student Center/Union or where ever the most foot traffic takes place for 1-2 hours to promote the Simply Postcard brand. At this time you are targeting those who have iPhones or Apple products to inform them about the app. This is a great time to have you laptop out to show them the site and get students to download the app. This is to establish the Simply Postcard brand on your campus.

EXPERIENTAL

Come up with an experimental marketing strategy that you think will grab the attention of the student body and will gain a new level of awareness for Simply Postcards. This is the time to really show off your creativity and no idea is too big. Ex. Taping handouts to the back of every chair in a giant lecture hall or having a Simply Postcards cookout. You are the one to decide what is possible!
