The Environmental Science Institute at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a public relations intern to assist with its Hot Science - Cool Talks outreach lecture series. The Hot Science series presents six events each year in which a leading scientist presents his or her research to the public, with an accompanying teacher workshop and pre-lecture interactive fair for all ages. This year, Hot Science will be initiating a satellite-viewing program where teachers across the state can gather to view Hot Science webcasts in an organized and facilitated setting. 

Pay: The position will be paid for 10 hours per week, although the position may require up to 15 hours of work per week (particularly during lecture weeks).

Duties:
The public relations intern will be responsible for assisting the ESI's Outreach Coordinator with publicity for the Hot Science events, as well as for generating a communications campaign to help launch the satellite program. Graphics design skills are preferred.
