Supervisor Information
Thank you for your interest in offering internships to students from the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Texas at Austin. If you would like to post an internship, please read through the following instructions. There is also information below if you are a current supervisor.
Internship Posting Procedure
To post an internship, please carefully read the guidelines below. If your organization is unable to meet these guidelines, your internship will not be posted.
Internship Guidelines for Interns:
1. Your organization may not have more than TWO unpaid interns receiving academic credit from our program during a given semester. These positions are filled on a first applied, first approved basis.
2. Interns may not use personal computers or software with University of Texas licenses during their internship. Your organization must provide them with the hardware and software they need.
3. The internship must be a minimum of 180 hours and a maximum of 200 hours over the semester (excluding the Summer Semester).
4. The internship must be highly relevant to the student's major education (advertising or public relations) and to their future career development.
5. The internship duties must be under 20 percent clerical work.
6. The internship should take place in an office setting where the student has frequent and in-person contact with their supervisor. The internship may not take place in a personal residence.
7. All work-related expenses incurred by the intern in the course of performing their internship duties need to be paid for or refunded by your organization.
Once you have read though these guidelines, please click on the link below and fill out the form. If you have multiple internship opportunities, please submit one form per internship.

Once you have submitted the form, please email a medium resolution .jpg of your organization logo to the Internship Coordinator, Ben Wyeth (benwyeth@utexas.edu).
Student Evaluations
Supervisors must evaluate students twice during the semester once at midterms and once at the conclusion of the internship. The Internship Coordinator will contact the supervisor with a link to complete the evaluation. These evaluation forms are meant to provide an accurate evaluation of the intern's performance and the intern's progression throughout the semester so please be honest.
Late forms will result in an "Incomplete" grade for the student. Being fired from an internship position or receiving a poor evaluation will likely result in a failing grade for the course.

Sincerely,
Ben Wyeth
