Advanced Media Strategies offers students a more in-depth look at advertising media by reviewing and further exploring issues raised in Introduction to Media Planning.
Course projects and lectures are structured to develop skills for critical thinking, problem solving, professional speaking, and presentations. Theories from related disciplines- such as economics, marketing, communications, and psychology- are incorporated into basic media planning practices in order to create new ways to effectively and efficiently reach a target audience. Students also learn about media buying strategies, price negotiations and post-buy analyses. In addition, the management and marketing issues inherent in establishing and using new media are explored.
