Through a rigorous application and interview process, 13 Texas Advertising students received lucrative advertising internships across the country this past summer. MAIP is the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program run by the AAAA. The latest class of 103 MAIPers marked the 33rd year of introducing students to the advertising industry.

Texas MAIPers were sent to Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis, New York City and Warren, MI from June through August for 10 weeks in the nation's largest and renowned agencies including Leo Burnett, Barkley Evergreen, Campbell Mithun, Draft FCB, McCann Erickson, Saatchi and Saatchi, Ogilvy, BBDO and Campbell-Ewald. They worked on some of the biggest brands and built their resumes and portfolios.

Throughout their 10 weeks, the students worked full time (and some overtime) at their agencies and attended seminars hosted by industry professionals. The program placed students in the middle of the agency experience, providing them with a growing network of supervisors, co-workers and MAIP alumni mentors.

The program wrapped with all MAIPers coming into New York at the end of the summer for a graduation ceremony and career fair. For those who had already graduated, some were offered jobs and others had the opportunity to meet other agencies. And for those who have another semester or two, they now have a network of friends and old co-workers to begin their job search.

Participating Texas students were: Amanda Berg, Mark Bonus, Brooke Breitling, Mark Chu, Randall Clark, Kalei Gaines, Terri Hsu, Rudine James, Adria Jessie, Naveed Lalani, Amber Parker, Sheetal Patel and Pamela Tietze.
