AAF Announces Most Promising Minority Students for 2009

Four Texas Advertising students have been selected as members of the American Advertising Federation's class of 2009 Most Promising Minority Students. They are: Christina Amy Chan, Jocelyn Shiuan Lai, Cecilia Wong, and Linda Yang.

A total of 40 students from around the country were selected for this honor. UT students represent 10% of the total. In addition UT had two students selected for the AAF Minority Honor Roll -- Brooke DeAnn Ingram and Justin Chiwo Lam. Five out of the six students are specializing in the Texas Media program. The only other universities with multiple students are Illinois with four, Florida with three, plus Oklahoma and Penn State with two each.

The Most Promising Minority Students Program will take place February 3-5, 2009, at the New York Athletic Club in New York City. AAF will cover the cost of hotel accommodations and round-trip travel to New York City for the Most Promising finalists and their advisers. Honor Roll students are invited to attend all of the activities that will be held in New York as well.

Congratulations to the students and their adviser -- Professor John H. Murphy!!
