Advertising Graduate Council visits NYC Agencies

The Advertising Graduate Council (AGC) took 40 students to New York from October 17-22 to visit advertising agencies. Students visited 16 agencies, from small creative boutiques to the big shops, during the trip, visiting with creatives, account directors, planners and media people in order to get a better understanding of the ad world. Each agency provided an unique perspective on the industry answering many students questions about the business. The trip also allowed students to get a feel for each agency and to explore the city that many of them will move to following graduation.

The group visited Strawberry Frog, The Ad Store, Lowe, Tribal DDB, Wieden + Kennedy, R/GA, Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB, BBDO, Della Femina Rothschild Jeary and Partners, mcgarry bowen, Merkley + Partners, SS+K, TAXI, Mother and BBH.

The agencies were very receptive to the students and were impressed by the level of professionalism and competitiveness the Texas Advertising MA program represented. Many UT Alumni gave presentations at their respective agencies and students had the good fortune to be able to hear from industry leaders such as Bob Isherwood at Saatchi & Saatchi, Paul Lavoie at TAXI, Paul Cappelli at The Ad Store and Scott Goodson from Strawberry Frog.
