Senior manager of GolinHarris on how to blaze a path in PR
Jacqi Moore Richardson (B.S. Public Relations, '03), a senior manager in the GolinHarris “catalyst” community, spoke to students on March 7 at the Belo Center for New Media.
Richardson spoke about her career, which began with an internship at GolinHarris nine years ago and talked about how to lead a successful communications career.
“PR is an exciting, fast-paced world so you want to make sure you're in a place surrounded by great people who do great work,” Richardson said.
She also briefly discussed GolinHarris’ unique business model, g4.
Instead of placing employees in a standard hierarchy, the g4 model assembles employees into four teams of specialists: Strategists, Creators, Connectors and Catalysts.
Richardson said working in public relations allows her to learn more about other industries and that students should find a company with a culture that fits their personalities and lifestyles.
