The American Association of Advertising Agencies awards scholarships to two Texas Advertising graduate students. 2005
The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) awarded Tiffany Bright and Jaarmyia Williams $10,000 each through the AAAA Foundation's Operation Jumpstart II. The scholarships are for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 academic years. Both students are first year MA students pursuing the Texas Creative program.
Tiffany's goal to be an art director appeals to her because it is an ideal synthesis of her interests in media, art, and human communications. She recently graduated from Stanford University where she received a BA in Urban Studies (Architecture and Urban Design) and a minor in Studio Art. She is also member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Tiffany appreciates good friends, a good sense of humor, and a great pair of shoes.
Jaarmyia Williams, more affectionately known as Myia, is a native of Richmond, Virginia. In 2003, she graduated from North Carolina State University with dual degrees in Business Management: Marketing and Latin American Culture Studies. Writing is her passion and she entered the Texas Advertising Graduate program to pursue a career in copywriting. Outside of her quest to leave her mark on the advertising world, she enjoys photography, learning how to play golf, watching classic movies and coloring.
In 1997, the American Association of Advertising Agencies formed the AAAA Foundation, Inc. as a means for the AAAA to accept charitable contributions for a variety of advertising industry-related purposes and to establish scholarship funds. Since its inception, the AAAA Foundation created the programs Operation Jumpstart and Operation Jumpstart II as a means of "jumpstarting" the number of multicultural employees in advertising agency creative departments.
