The American Association of Advertising Agencies awards scholarships to two Texas Advertising graduate students. 2004
The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) awarded Andrew Ishak and Rudine James $10,000 each through the AAAA Foundation's Operation Jumpstart II. The scholarships are for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 academic years. Andrew graduated from University of California, Davis while Rudine graduated from Oklahoma State University. Both students joined the MA program this fall.
Last year's recipients were Jenee Taylor and Angela Rodela. Both Jenee and Angela plan to graduate in May 2004 from the Texas Creative MA program. All four recipients met with Ms. Tiffany Warren, Manager of the AAAA's Diversity Programs on her recent trip to Austin. "What a talented group of students you have at UT Austin", Ms. Warren noted. "It is such a pleasure to visit with them and see their enthusiasm for advertising."
In 1997, the American Association of Advertising Agencies formed the AAAA Foundation, Inc. as a means for the AAAA to accept charitable contributions for a variety of advertising industry-related purposes and to establish scholarship funds. Since its inception, the AAAA Foundation created the programs Operation Jumpstart and Operation Jumpstart II as a means of "jumpstarting" the number of multicultural employees in advertising agency creative departments.
