Chaos 2006 - New Agendas in Advertising Conference

This November, Texas Advertising plays host to the Chaos 2006 conference. The conference is subtitled "New Agendas in Advertising" and focuses on the challenges posed to the industry by the onset of modern media. Several local advertising bigwigs are involved in the organizing committee, including our very own Dr. Neal Burns who is serving as chair. The committee includes representatives from several local advertising agencies, including GSD&M, Latin Works, and Clickin Research.

The conference will feature keynote addresses from Keith Reinhard, CEO emeritus of DDB World Wide and President of Business for Diplomatic Action, Bob Garfield of NPR's On the Media and columnist for Advertising Age, and Russell Davies, founder of Open Intelligence Agency. The conference also features several panel discussions tackling topics of interest to advertising industry and academia.

The conference starts Friday November 17 in the afternoon and proceeds through all of Saturday November 18. The reception on Friday afternoon will take place at the Bob Bullock Texas State Museum (1800 Congress Avenue), and the rest of the conference, including lunch and the concluding cocktail hour will take place at the University of Texas Club (23rd and East Campus Drive).
