CTAM Chili Cook-off Brings Alumni and UT Together
Tears formed and gallons of water were consumed at the annual CTAM Texas Chili Cook Off on Wednesday, October 24th at Fiesta Gardens in Austin. UT College of Communications alum, John Alvarez, helped organize this year's signature chapter event, which has awarded over $10,000 in charity donations. Judges included our very own Gary Wilcox, Lisa Dobias, and Virginia Hueske, as well as Texas Advertising Graduate students, Kelly Eidson and Aleks Rzeznik. Aleks Rzeznik noted, "Never have I experiences such a variety of aroma, taste, texture, and color in chili...all within thirty minutes!" Wilcox agreed and said, "We look forward to the 2008 event in Austin and continuing to grow the Texas Advertising involvement with CTAM Texas."
Founded in 1990, CTAM Texas is a chapter of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing - which is dedicated to the discipline and development of consumer marketing excellence in cable television, new media and telecommunication services. Goals of the Texas chapter include enhancing professional development, reaching out to new players in the telecommunications industry, and hosting events designed to bridge the gap between marketing and technology.
