CTAM Chili Cook-off Brings Alumni and UT Together -- Again?

For the second year in a row, faculty and students participated as judges in the annual CTAM Texas Chili Cook Off on Wednesday, October 15th at Fiesta Gardens in Austin. Judges included professors Gary Wilcox and Lisa Dobias, as well as four Texas Advertising students.

Lisa Dobias noted, "What a hoot! This was such an enjoyable time: chili, good company and media". Wilcox agreed and said, "We look forward to the 2009 event in Austin and continuing to grow the Texas Advertising involvement with CTAM Texas". This year the judges were responsible for the "Best Texas Chili" as well as best "Booth Theme" and "Booth Decorations".

Founded in 1990, CTAM Texas is a chapter of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing, which is dedicated to the discipline and development of consumer marketing excellence in cable television, new media and telecommunication services. Goals of the Texas chapter include: enhancing professional development, reaching out to new players in the telecommunications industry, and hosting events designed to bridge the gap between marketing and technology.
