Department of Advertising's Advertising World Web site Awarded 2001 Golden Ace Award

The Department of Advertising at the University of Texas at Austin was nominated and recently awarded the 2001 Golden Ace Awards in the Advertising and Marketing category for "Advertising World", a portion of the departmental Web site, by The Golden Ace Academy Awards.

Advertising World is an online marketing communications industry resource for professionals, students and teachers. The site features internal and external links to more than 1000 advertising and marketing communications-related Web sites ranging from account planning to M-commerce to Web site promotion.

The http://www.lightos.com/gaaawards.html Golden Ace Awards have been awarded annually since 1994 to Web sites by the GAAA, a privately owned non-profit company owned and operated by the lightOS World Internet Community. The GAAA presents the Golden Ace Awards for excellence in 24 specific categories and three major achievement areas. Awards are based on overall artistic creativity and the ongoing preservation of family values and moral content. Specifically, Web sites are graded on color, consistency, continuity, artistic skills, artistic design, originality, creativity, resource, organization and family values.
