Dr. John Fortunato's.recent book "The Commissioner: The Legacy of Pete Rozelle" is now on Barnes and Noble's Recommended Holiday Gift list. In "The Commissioner," Dr. Fortunato gives the account of Pete Rozelle's endeavor to bring the NFL from a 12-team league in 1960 to what it is today.

Dr. Fortunato is known for his research on sports media. His previously published books are "The Ultimate Assist: The Relationship and Broadcast Strategies of the National Basketball Association" and "Making Media Content: The Influence of Constituency Groups on Mass Media." He has also published articles in acclaimed academic journals such as the Public Relations Review, Journal of Sports Management, Communications and the Law Journal, Fordham Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal, International Journal of Sports Marketing, and the Atlantic Journal of Communication.
