Grad Students Attend Resume and Job Internship Presentation

Grad Students in Advertising attended a resume workshop and received internship and job hunting tips from Lindsey LeBlanc, intern coordinator at GSD&M, along with Natalie Huffman, recruiting coordinator also from GSD&M. They spoke for over an hour on how grads could improve their resumes.

Both Lindsey and Natalie graduated from the department, so their presentation was especially relevant. They spoke about keeping resumes succinct, and to the point, but still having a creative flair. Other tips included how to bolster your resume even if you do not have a lot of work experience, as well as a list of action verbs which help improve the overall sound of a resume.

The catered event, which took place in the Campus Club was attended by close to 30 grad students, along with Graduate Coordinator Virginia Hueske, Dr. Gary Wilcox, and Graduate Peer Adviser Aleks Rzeznik, all who had a hand in coordinating the event. The event was sponsored by the Texas Advertising Graduate Program. After the presentation, students were able to ask both speakers questions and get advice one-on-one with resumes they brought.
