Richard Wilde to Speak at the Times-Mirror Creative Lecture Series

Richard Wilde, Chair of the Advertising and Graphic Design Department at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, will speak to advertising students and faculty this Friday, March 4. The lecture is set to take place in the Flawn Academic Center, room 21 from 3:00 until 5:00pm. In his lecture, entitled "Wilde Thinking", Wilde is expected to speak about the ways of finding new ideas in creative work.

Richard Wilde holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute. He has also written several books on creativity including Visual Literacy: A Conceptual Approach to Graphic Problem Solving and 101 Ways to Stay Young. In his career, Wilde has accumulated over 150 awards including the Art Directors Club Educators Award, Society of Publication Designers, The One Show, Type Writers Club, Communication Arts, Print, AIGA, and Society of Illustrators.

Richard Wilde is the second speaker to take part in this semester's Times-Mirror Creative Lecture Series entitled EDGE Keeping Creative Sharp. Other upcoming speakers include Kathy Hepinstall on Friday, March 25th and Neil Power & Josh Rogers speaking together on Monday, April 4th.
