Roy Spence to Speak at Branding Conference

Roy Spence will be speaking at the Center for Brand Research conference: Branding & ReBranding in the Twenty-First Century: A Trans-disciplinary Approach on May 7-9. Thirty-one years after founding GSD&M with his fellow UT graduates, Roy Spence provides the leadership and energy that help to make GSD&M a billion dollar agency. GSD&M's client roster is made up of some of the most respected brands in the country, including Wal-Mart, Southwest Airlines, SBC, MasterCard, Kohler, Krispy Kreme, Charles Schwab, the PGA TOUR, DreamWorks, and the United States Air Force, to name a few.

Mr. Spence has been recognized by Advertising Age magazine as an innovator in the industry. In addition to coverage in industry publications, Roy has been featured in USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Fortune and Texas Monthly. He was also included in Esquire magazines "Faces of the Century."

Mr. Spence currently serves on UT's Commission of 125, the McCombs School of Business Advisory Council, the KLRU Board of Directors, The First Tee Austin Board of Directors, the Wal-Mart Literacy Council, the Austin Idea Network Advisory Board and the Texas Exes Marketing Committee. He has served as Chair of the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Advance Team and is a recipient of the Austin Area Texas Exes Outstanding Alumnus Award.

Roy Spence graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1971.
