What made you decide to major in Management Information Systems and Public Relations?
I decided to major in Management Information Systems and Public Relations because both disciplines truly capture my passion for working with technology and people.
Is it hard to balance both majors?
It is very difficult to balance both majors, but in a good way-it's a healthy challenge. In fact, one of my major challenges is having the right mindset when I enter these two, very different, learning environments.
What do you plan to do with the two majors?
Ideally I'd like to work for a Fortune 500 company like IBM or Apple where I would be expected to use my public relations skills and techniques to enhance communication between company executives and employees.
Has being in foster care impacted your college choices and goals?
Foster care has only impacted my goals. Early on, I thought I belonged in the School of Social Work. I've learned, however, that I can impact foster youth by perusing what I'm passionate about.
Do you plan on doing anything with the foster care system in the future?
After college, I would like to start an organization for current foster youth that would allow those aging out to be mentored by former foster youth who are completing their college studies.
