Texas Advertising Alum Recognized for Teaching Excellence and more
Texas Advertising Graduate, Kimberly Paul Selber (Ph.D. 2001) was awarded the Provost's Excellence for Teaching at The University of Texas-Pan American. Only one faculty member from UTPA was selected to receive this award, which is accompanied by a $5,000 honorarium. In addition, Dr. Selber was awarded the Provost's excellence in teaching for the college of arts and humanities. She is also a finalist for the UT System Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award, which will be announced in May 2009.

This current semester she was appointed "Executive-in-Residence" to The University of Texas-Pan American. In this position, Selber is spearheading the rebranding of UTPA.
Professor Selber is also key in an on-going relationship with the department's recruiting efforts in the graduate program. For the last five years, Dr. Selber has coordinated annual visits from the Graduate Adviser, Gary Wilcox. This past year Wilcox's visit was funded by a Graduate Recruiting Grant from the UT Graduate School and was very successful in terms of recruiting. Three of the students that were identified by Professor Selber as having interest in the graduate program were admitted to the program and received South Texas Fellowships to fund their graduate study.
Dr. Selber was also promoted to Associate Professor with tenure effective Sept. 1, 2009. Congratulations to Professor Selber on all of her outstanding achievements.
