As a result of this traineeship, Sonny's program of study will now draw from environmental engineering courses as well as advertising and mass communication. 'The fellowship carries a stipend for TWO years, an education allowance for tuition and fees each year and an additional cost of living allowance to assist with an internship (for some travel and housing offset).
In awarding the fellowship IGERT noted:
"We are very impressed by your interests, ideas, and excitement for the field. We believe that your interests will contribute greatly to the interdisciplinary spirit of our program, and that your knowledge will help to begin to fill an important void in our program and the field as a whole. Importantly, we also believe that you have great potential to make a difference and to be a future leader..."
Some of the topics Sonny will explore through the program include pollutants/contaminants found inside homes/schools/public places and how related information/risks/policies are best communicated with various audiences.
