Texas Creative Blows Away Student Competition at Austin ADDY Awards Show
The advertising department is extremely proud to announce the results of this year's ADDY Awards Show that took place on February 4, 2005. Judges at the event claimed that the student work at the competition was arguably better than the professional work. In all, University of Texas students walked away with 37 awards in all categories. Two recent graduates, Jen Rodesta and Rod Barrera took awards for Best of Show for their magazine ad campaign for Titos Vodka.
The ADDYs, put on by the Austin Advertising Federation, takes place every year in Austin and around the country. Local winners advance to compete against other winners within their regions in one of 14 district competitions. District winners then move on to compete in the National ADDY Awards competition.
The department congratulates the many students on their success at this year's ADDY show after the many long hours spent in development. Also worthy of praise, the department recognizes the Texas Creative faculty Sean Thompson, Glenn Griffin, David Horridge, and Deborah Morrison for their encouragement and investment in the Texas Creative students.
