Texas Creative Launches Ad Pal Mentorship Program

After a successful trial run last fall, Texas Creative has officially launched its Ad Pal mentorship program this week.

The Ad Pal program pairs students at the Advanced Portfolio level with art directors, copywriters and creative directors who are currently working at top agencies across the country. Each student is matched with a mentor, who will work with the student to help develop their portfolio during their final semester before heading out to find an agency position. Mentors will critique student work, offer job-hunting and portfolio development advice, and answer questions about agency life.

"The best portfolios are made of smart ideas that have been nurtured by many different professional perspectives," said Sean Thompson of Texas Creative faculty. "The Ad Pal program is a cool way to hook students and professionals up long before the job hunt begins. Our students, and our mentors, are all thrilled to be part of the program. And we sure appreciate the valuable time that our mentors donate to our students."

Since the Ad Pal mentors hail from all across the country, students correspond with them by email, telephone, and webcam.

Ad Pal mentors come from the best agencies in the country, including JWT, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, DDB San Francisco, Cole + Weber, Lowe, GSD&M, StrawberryFrog, Dieste Harmel, The Richards Group, TDA, TBWA Chiat/Day, Fallon, Hanft Raboy, McKee Wallwork Cleveland, mcgarrybowen, t:m, Arnold, Team One, Mullen, DiMassimo, McKinney + Silver, and so many more.
