Texas Creative Students Bring Home More ADDY Awards

With a total of 7 winning campaigns including a Best in Show, Texas, Creative students from the Department of Advertising and PR were once again awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze ADDY; awards at the Austin Advertising Federation's "The Austin Show" last Friday.

The Didi Stuart Best Of Show Student Award, as well as a Gold ADDY, went to Ani Munoz and Cameron Fleming for their Crest Pro Health magazine campaign. Along with the Gold, UT students brought home the Silver and two Bronze awards in the magazine campaign category. The Silver award went to the team of David Soames Gonzalez and Dev Gupta for their LG Surround Sound campaign, while the pair also won a Bronze for their Strand Bookstore work. The other Bronze award went to Luis Sanchez and Elizabeth Garcia for their Pearle Vision Center campaign. Texas Creative students also won awards for their innovative non-print work. Suzanne Elizondo and Michael Huereque won a Gold award for their Petco point-of purchase work, while Robert Bilberry and Stephen Reidmiller won Silver for their non-traditional advertising campaign for Big Red gum.

The two Gold campaigns now advance to the regional competition. Housed within the University of Texas Department of Advertising and PR, Texas Creative is one of the leading creative advertising education programs on the planet. Rooted in sound strategy and conceptual process, Texas Creative molds students into fearless experimental thinkers who are primed to create innovative advertising, branding, and social messages that are delivered through a variety of integrated traditional and non-traditional media. The annual Austin ADDY Awards is the largest and most recognized advertising event in Austin. This year, the association rebranded the Austin ADDYs as The Austin Show-2008 Austin ADDYs to keep in line with showcasing the theme of 'Cool Little City, Great Big Ideas" to achieve the association's goal of positioning Austin as one of the most respected ad communities in the country.
