Texas Creative Students Win ADDYs

The hard work and creativity of twenty-two students in the Texas Creative program was rewarded in the 2009 Austin ADDYs. A total of twenty ADDY Awards were earned--including a Best in Show-- the most ADDYs ever awarded to UT students.

Texas Creative students were awarded 8 Golds, 5 Silvers, and 6 Bronzes. The students were awarded in Print Campaign, Print Single, Poster, Package Design, Point of Purchase, Outdoor, Nontraditional, and Mixed Media Campaign.

These annual awards programs recognize creative advertising work and serve as the first of a three-tiered national competition. Local gold winners go on to compete against other winners within regional competitions. Regional winners move on to the National ADDY Awards competition.

In addition to the hard work of the students, professors and mentors played a major role in the creation and perfection of the ads. "I entered the ADDYs at the advice of my professor who really liked some work I had produced in a class. I'm glad he gave me the extra push to enter because I wouldn't have done so on my own" says Rey Rosas, one of the student winners.
