UT public relations program ranks top 3 in recent report
The University of Texas at Austin ranks in the top three public relations programs in the country according to a recent report by Everything PR.
The report by Everything PR assesses the most promising public relations programs at universities nation-wide as well as the benefits of earning a degree in public relations.
Everything PR is an online news site dedicated to reviewing and promoting public relations companies and services, corporate communication and marketing trends and various social media aspects of the Web.
One of the main factors in the report that distinguishes UT Austin from other programs is that it was one of the first original seven schools to form a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter. The UT PRSSA chapter works with students to aid in their preparation for internship experiences and professional success post-graduation.
Everything PR touts a degree in public relations as quickly becoming the most sought-after prize in academia. Furthermore, the job outlook for public relations is increasingly promising: the bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 23 percent growth over the next eight years.
The report concludes that a public relations degree bridges marketing, multimedia and communications disciplines and helps create tomorrow’s business mavericks.
