Virginia Hueske Texas Advertising Graduate Coordinator to Retire

Virginia Hueske, the department's graduate coordinator will retire from the University effective this December 31st. Virginia has been with our department 22 years and will be greatly missed. Throughout that time she has provided outstanding support to our graduate students, faculty and graduate advisers. She has worked with several graduate advisers over that time period: Arnold Barban, Gary Wilcox(twice), Patricia Stout, and Jef Richards. She has been recognized by the University, College and Department for outstanding contributions to the graduate program. It is difficult to loose such a dedicated employee but she is excited about her retirement now making plans to participate in activities she hadn't had time for until now and travel.
Aleks Rzeznik, Graduate Peer Adviser and second year graduate students noted, "From a cup of hot tea to crucial academic advice, Virginia has offered a variety of resources to make graduate school not only survivable but enjoyable too! All of the graduate students, past and present, will miss her!".
Professor Gary Wilcox, Graduate Adviser, stated, "I personally would like to thank Virginia for her support, vision and dedication to our graduate program. When she started with our program, we had about 40 graduate students. Today our graduate program is one of the largest, most well respected in the College and University".
