
The capstone course in the Texas Creative sequence, Portfolio 4 pushes students to take risks and and seek advanced, interconnected brand solutions to a variety of communication problems. The course is designed as a transition course between academic and professional life, and seeks to equip students with the skills to succeed in the industry. Students are asked to further solidify their portfolios through nontraditional solutions, focusing on full-spectrum branding. The course also addresses advanced issues of professional development, including pitching and presentation skills, advanced production techniques, professional networking, and building a strong professional image. Students are encouraged to enter their work in national and international competitions, and are required to post their portfolios online. Students are also required to present their portfolios to a panel of professional reviewers for evaluation prior to the completion of the course.
Portfolio 4 is usually offered in the Spring semester.
