Justin is a doctoral candidate in his second year in the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations and currently a Teaching Assistant for ADV 319: Psychology of Advertising and a Graduate Research Assistant. His current research areas include sport sponsorship, consumer psychology, and cause-related marketing and CSR.
Justin is also a Doctoral Fellow with the Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation and a student affiliate of the Center for Sports Communication. He has served previously as a Doctoral Fellow with Moody and DellMed’s Center for Health Communication and worked with many UT student-athletes as a Strategy Tutor and on student-athlete mental health initiatives.
As a master’s student, he completed his thesis on consumer behavior in response to the implementation of the NBA's jersey sponsorship program. Additional areas of interest include ethics and leadership, perceptions of credibility and authenticity, and entrepreneurship. He has also held previous appointments assisting with courses in the McCombs School of Business in the departments of marketing, management, and technology commercialization.
From an industry perspective, Justin has worked in account planning and strategy roles with a focus on turning data-driven and human-centered research findings into insights that inform brand strategy and successful creative executions. He has also served as a communication and brand strategy consultant to several local businesses. Personal interests include exploring local nature spots, sports including baseball, basketball, and golf, midcentury architecture and design, blues music, and vintage amplifier and audio restoration.
