Scholarships & Fellowships

Students in the Moody College of Communication can apply for all Communication scholarships through one application. As we get closer to the application period we will post specific application information, so check the scholarships page for more information.

Undergraduate

Norman Campbell Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Advertising – Awarded to an undergraduate student who shows commitment to a career in advertising. Student must demonstrate character, work ethic and achievement through high academic grade performance and involvement in extracurricular activities. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, 45 hours of coursework taken in-residence and be enrolled full-time during the award period. Financial need will be considered.

Carroll Cartwright Endowed Presidential Scholarship – Given to a junior advertising student. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, 45 hours of coursework taken in-residence and be enrolled full-time during the award period. Financial need will be considered.

GSD&M Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Advertising – Given to a junior or senior in advertising, art or marketing. Selection will be based on need, scholastic achievement and the student's intention to enter an advertising career. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, 45 hours of coursework taken in-residence and be enrolled full-time during the award period. Financial need will be considered.

The Richards Group Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Creative Advertising – For a junior or senior who shows great promise for a career in the creative side of advertising. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.25, 45 hours of coursework taken in-residence and be enrolled full-time during the award period. Financial need will be considered.

Hearst Corporation Scholarship in Advertising  For undergraduate advertising and public relations students who are in good academic standing and have financial need.

Eleanor and Robert Pulver Scholarship – Awarded to a senior in public relations with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and financial need.

Alan Scott Scholarship – For upper-division students majoring in public relations in the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations.

David (Shy) Scheihagen Scholarship – Awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in advertising who is contributing to his/her own support and education. Preference will be given to students in the Texas Media program.

John E. McGary Advertising Scholarship – Awarded to undergraduate advertising students.

Undergraduate or Graduate

Tracy-Locke/Morris Hite Endowed Presidential Scholarship Fund for Advertising Studies – For a junior, senior or graduate student in advertising. Undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 45 hours of coursework taken in-residence. Graduate students must show academic merit. All applicants must be enrolled full-time during the award period and have financial need.

Austin Ad Club Endowed Scholarship in Advertising – Awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student in advertising.

The Robert M. Gray Scholarship Fund – Given to a junior, senior or graduate student in advertising who is contributing to his/her own support and education. Selection to be based on professional interest and ability.

Frank Rizzo Advertising Scholarship – For an undergraduate or graduate student in advertising with a minimum GPA of 3.25, financial need, and remarkable talent in the creative area of advertising.

The IABC Houston Student Scholarship – An annual, one-time $2,500 award in memory of Downs Matthews, an IABC Houston pioneer, to foster the communication profession. Eligible individuals are undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field of communication, with their primary home residence in the greater Houston area. Graduate

The Ray Hall Advertising Fellowship – For a graduate student in advertising who intends to work for an advertising agency in either creative or account services.
