Asma Sifaoui is a Ph.D. candidate in Advertising at the Moody College of Communication, a Cybersecurity Fellow at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law and a Graduate Research Fellow at the Center for Media Engagement. Her research investigates the intersection of technology, privacy, and security. She studies personalized advertising and emerging technologies with a focus on privacy issues and surveillance.
Lately, she has been exploring users' understanding of privacy contracts and notices when interacting with different tech companies. Asma aims to provide practical implications that push for more transparency and the creation of policies that safeguard users' privacy and security.
Asma earned her M.A. in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota as part of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. She pursued a BBA in Marketing and Business Analytics at Tunis Business School in Tunisia. Before starting graduate school, Asma worked at Wunderman Thompson in Tunis as a Brand Analyst.
