The Lab
The Lab is where the real world and the classroom collide. As the capstone course for advertising and public relations, students are immersed in all aspects of these in-demand professions, including creative, account services, media planning, public relations and strategy. Student agencies work in collaboration with actual clients to innovate, strategize and create real-world campaigns that help build their brands, expand their reach and change the world. Our past clients have come from a wide variety of industries, including technology companies, food and beverage, health and fitness, and more.
We bridge theory and practice, ensuring students are industry-ready by allowing them to integrate the knowledge they learn in the classroom with hands-on experience. Upon completing this course, students have the sophisticated and practical know-how, creative problem-solving and deep critical thinking skills needed for successful careers in numerous industries.

This class has really given me the experience to be a lot more hands on than any other experience I’ve had in the past, including past internships with other ad agencies.
I honestly really loved working as a department lead and with the class in general because it kind of resembles an agency, so it really teaches you about teamwork and working under pressure and how to do that among your team.

It’s been like no other class I’ve taken here at the University, and I feel like this is experience that is going to carry over for many years into my career. I have really enjoyed collaborating with specifically some of the other leaders in the departments and my agency as a whole, and just getting all the different perspectives and being able to guide them and help them grow as I’m growing.
