Hyungrok (John) Jin is a Ph.D. student at the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations. His research interests involve studying the psychology of new media and technology. One of his main research topics is how algorithms and privacy concern influence users' cognitive and emotional processing of persuasive messages. His research also focuses on consumer psychology and behavior in virtual environments. Within his work, he explores whether consumers' behaviors in virtual environments and their avatars have different effects on their behaviors in reality.
