Hyunji Kim is a doctoral student in the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research lies at the intersection of media psychology and technology, with a focus on algorithmic advertising and AI-driven personalization.

Her work examines how consumers interpret and respond to algorithmic targeting and ad transparency, focusing on how factors such as product sensitivity, algorithmic explanations, and AI literacy shape consumer behavior.

In addition, she explores how emerging digital agents, such as virtual influencers, affect user perceptions and attitudes, with particular attention to anthropomorphism and its implications for credibility and persuasion in digital environments.

She received her M.A. in Communication and Media from Ewha Womans University and her B.A. in Broadcasting, Film, and New Media and in French from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
