
Shuer Zhuo is a PhD candidate at the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations. Her research explores the roles of emotions in persuasive communication and consumer experiences of emerging technologies, with a focus on personalization algorithms and Emotion AI. Bridging consumer psychology, media effects, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), she employs both quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g., experiments, surveys, eye-tracking, interviews, focus groups, content analysis) to examine the emotional dimensions of persuasion in digital media environments. Her work aims to inform persuasive strategies that harness emotions through message designs, interface cues, and new media affordances to promote healthier lifestyles and consumer well-being.
