Emily is a first-year doctoral student having arrived by way of Chicago. Prior to joining the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Affairs, she spent several years working within the advertising industry fluctuating between both account and project management roles. Her professional experience entailed overseeing traditional and digital work for brands like The Great Indoors, Sears, Kenmore, Craftsman, OFF! ® and AutoZone.

It was during this time that Emily was truly exposed to the rapidly evolving media environment, particularly within the world of advertising – an observation that ultimately led to her interest in pursuing her doctoral degree. Her current research interests surround how consumers integrate new media into their life, their motivations for doing so and their resultant attitudes, behaviors and perceptions.
