Brand Drops this Lunar New Year

In several east Asian countries, February 12th marks the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars. The 2021 Lunar New Year will kick off soon with huge celebrations that bring family, friends, and tradition together. With an anxious end to the Year of the Rat, there’s much anticipation and excitement for this Year of the Ox. Stateside, big brands have released Lunar New Years inspired products and services to celebrate this holiday.

One brand that is going all out for this Lunar New Year is Panda Express. The Asian dining chain creates a virtual celebration through February 28 called the digital red envelope experience. People will be able to visit a website with their mobile devices and send virtual celebrations and messages to loved ones. The idea is to spread good fortune to others no matter how close or far they may be. Panda Express has also released a short film highlighting this holiday’s meaning and come out with a new menu item, Firecracker Chicken Breast. Through food and family, Panda Express can spread the joy that Lunar New Year brings.

Some other brands participating in this Lunar New Year celebration are Nike, Adidas, Vans, Li-Ning, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Burberry, Starbucks, Mattel, Apple, and Lego. Each fashion or clothing brand has a new collection out inspired by the Year of the Ox. Starbucks has also joined in on the fun and came out with a collection of holiday cups. Mattel released a special edition Lunar New Year Barbie doll, Apple revealed a limited-edition set of Airpod Pros, and Lego has released Year of the Ox lego sets.

With dozens of brand drops ranging from luxury fashion to department store goods, the Year of the Ox is off to a promising start. Did you celebrate Lunar New Year? Let us know at @TXADPR.
