The Lab officially launched in the fall of 2021. It is home to Integrated Communications Campaigns, a capstone class in the School of Advertising & Public Relations in the Moody College of Communication. Each class operates like an independent agency and is student-led. Students in The Lab span every discipline including creative, strategy, media, account service and public relations. A new open-environment collaboration room with state-of-the-art technology was built to accommodate the agencies, coaching sessions, speaker series and more.
The goal of The Lab is to ensure all Advertising and PR students are industry ready upon graduation by providing them with the learning and critical thinking skills they need for successful careers in marketing. In The Lab, students collaborate with client sponsors on real projects under the guidance of world-class faculty. Client Sponsors of The Lab include Amazon, Dell, Marco’s Pizza, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Molson Coors Beverage Company and more.
The Moody College believes in diverse, talented people and their collective power to change the world through communication. Clients of The Lab will gain access to some of the brightest minds in the world as they prepare for multi-dimensional careers at agencies, for-profit organizations or philanthropic foundations. Corporations and individuals are invited to partner with The Lab for the opportunity to engage with our students and faculty on an integrated campaign project. Client participation allows the Moody College to fulfill The Lab’s mission to make our students industry ready, and ultimately, prepare them for a successful career in advertising, brand marketing, media or PR.
